News: Driver dies after crashing into trees in Tippecanoe County

TIPPECANOE COUNTY, IN – A driver was killed when his vehicle ran off a roadway in Tippecanoe County and crashed, authorities said.

A report by WISH said the accident occurred Saturday morning in the 1800 block of County Road 900 East sometime after 12:30 a.m.

The Tippecanoe County Sheriff’s Office said their investigation indicated that a man was driving a 2015 Chevrolet Malibu south when he drove to the left, slid off the road, and went into a wooded ravine.  The car then struck several trees before stopping.

The car was found overturned at the bottom of the ravine and the driver was outside the vehicle.  He was pronounced dead at the scene.  The victim’s identity was not released.

Speed is believed to have been a contributing factor in the wreck.
