News: Head-on collision in Grant County leaves 1 driver dead, 1 injured

GRANT COUNTY, IN – Authorities in Grant County said a wrong-way crash last week left one driver dead and another injured, WXIN reports.

The Grant County Sheriff’s Office said the driver of a Dodge Nitro was traveling south in the northbound lanes of S. Western Avenue near 53rd Street Wednesday at about 9:30 a.m.  The Nitro slammed head-on into a Dodge Caravan.

The driver of the Caravan suffered fatal injuries.  The Nitro driver, a woman from Wabash, was reported to be in stable condition after being transported to an area hospital.

The accident remains under investigation by the sheriff’s office.
