News: Teenage driver dies after crashing into building in Carmel

CARMEL, IN – A teenage driver died of injuries suffered when he was involved in an accident in Carmel last week, according to police.

WRTV reports the victim was a 16-year-old boy who was a junior at a local high school.  According to police, the teen was driving east on Main Street Friday morning when he lost control of his vehicle and crashed into a building at the intersection of Main Street and Old Meridian.

The boy was transported to the hospital, where he passed away on Sunday morning.

Investigators determined that the crash, which resulted in substantial damage to the building and the vehicle, was not intentional.
